Which mp3 player should I get - Creative Labs' ZEN:M or Apple's iPod v5.5? Yeah... Well, I'm getting an mp3 player tomorrow, and I've narrowed it down to the ZEN:M by Creative Labs and the iPod 5.5, which as we all know is designed by Apple Computers. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of iPods, and the reviews for the ZEN have been much better than those for the iPod. From looking at the ZEN, the thickness shouldn't be a problem, however I would like to hear from owners of the ZEN whether or not the thickness (double the size of the iPod) really gets in the way.
Answers with supporting evidence would be greatly appreciated, and if you point out any problems with either gadget, could you please make sure it isn't one of those things that happens in one in a thousand players? I've been looking at mp3 players for three months, I've shed enough fear over that kind of question for a lifetime. :P

Note, in response to first answer: I already own a cell phone, and am not interested in the 600 dollar iPhone.
Disregard the above, I messed that up. I thought I was editing, didn't realize I was just adding details rofl..
Shyguy replied: "If you are old enough to have a cell phone, forego the iPod and get an iPhone. This phone will blow your mind and it has an iPod built in."
Johnny POppins replied: "I've had the Creative Zen Vision M since Christmas it is a great Mp3 player. I haven't had any problems with the thickness and it doesn't bother me. The ipod may be the cooler or more popular thing to buy bought I'd go with the Zen. It is a solid Mp3.

Going from past experience I'd say get the Zen."
What would be the BEST speaker system for my Creative Zen Micro? I read reviews about the creative labs travel dock for the zen micro, and saw that many people didn't like it that much and the sound wasn't good quality. So I was wondering if there's a speaker system that an mp3 player could be hooked up to that sounds really good. Something under or around $100.

Creative Labs Creative ZEN V 2 GB Portable Media Player? How good is it...? the price is unbelievable, but for some reason i cant locate reviews for this...thats why im asking this question yahoo! answers...

should i get the 1gb Creative Labs Zen V MP3 Player? i want a mp3 player that is nice and cheap and i saw that they had this mp3 player at walmart for $80 the price is right for me but i dont kno if i should get it because in reviews i have read that it freezes sometime so anyone with one please help
Lauren replied: "well you get what you pay for."
youngmec2008 replied: "It does freeze but mine only froze once but yeah just keep a needle close by so whenever it freezes you won't be screwed. Its worth it."
Opinion of Creative Labs 4GB Zen V Plus MP3 player? I am replacing my broken mp3 player and thinking of picking up this one. All reviews appear to be favorable except for an apparent "freezing" or locking up problem. Even though it has a reset button it could become a real pain. I've also heard that installing the firmware update before using the player resolves this yet others say it does not. Anyone have first hand experience of this player or if not suggest another in the $150 and lower price range (do not say anything with the word "iPod" in it. Thanks everyone
Neeku replied: "It rocks! Go for it and don't hesitate. I've got a 2 GB one and it's really good, and it doesn't freeze much often. There's nothing wrong with the firmware, all players have it."
I'm buying a music playing device. What should I get? i have narrowed it down to two choices - the Creative Labs Zen or a pink iPod, not the one with the metal back, but the slightly older one.
Without considering how many gbs it has, bias on iPods vs mp3 players, price and how current or old it is, and simply judging only on the device itself, which should i get?
Creative Labs Zen
... Everyone should know what an ipod is right...
cutiemahak replied: "a pink ipod
they work very well and dont even cost as much
plus they have 4 more gigabytes than a regular 1
plz answer my question
its about ihomes connected 2 a plug"
too.muchtv replied: "I have an ipod. I got it for the storage. I'm not letting that bias me.
RE: Creative:I like that it has the extras. On my other player (Creative Zen muvo tx fm), I liked the extra features. On the plus side, I believe that you don't have to d/l software, but just drag and drop music, right? I also like the voice recording and fm (and I'm not sure if this will record the radio, mind did. I didn't use it to get songs, but i would record a part of a song, and use that to find the song and get it later, very useful, so was the voice recording, tho it's not GREAT quality, it comes in handy if you have good earphones for lectures)
From the review, I think you need to find a place that sells it and see if it feels "cheap" to you, otherwise, disregarding size/cost, I'd get that
RE: Ipod: I got it because it was the cheapest for the storage. I use it like an external harddrive, and I d/l a third party app so I can add music on the fly. I also slammed my car door on it twice, and not a scratch (but it's scratched from the back with lots of minor scratched, dunno how that happened). I wouldnt run with it since it's harddrive based, you'll need a flash based mp3 player if you want to run, or else it's strictly for the gym. I've had panic attacks when my ipod would freeze for no apparent reason, and you have to look up on the website how to reset it.
RE: both: get a good protective case, and check out if the battery on the creative is replaceable.
Bottom line: I'm leaning toward the zen. Check out how to replace the battery, and if it seems like the zen is durable. But either way, I've had creative product (my <3, my first player) and the ipod, and I like both. I'm leaning toward the zen for the extras, which you will use, and the fact that I've had a good experience w/ the mp3 player. Then again, that could be because it was flash, not harddrive based."
What should I get between these 2? Should I get a Creative Labs Zen Stone 1GB MP3 Player (ZST1GBBK),which costs 34.99, or a Sony Walkman 1GB MP3 Player (NWE003SILVER), WHICH COSTS 59.99? I looked at the reviews for both and it seems that the Sony Walkman has alot higher ratings. Which one can I synchronize or download music right from Windows Media Player 10? Because if they both do that then I'll get the Sony, but I have to get the one that can get music right from Windows Media Player 10. All info would be very appreciated, and the most helpful answer will get 10 points!
book_worm2014 replied: "i think that the creative mp3 playres have their own software, and since you want to sync w/ wmp 10, get the sony walkman"
shauniemoma replied: "They both do but a think the cheaper one even though it was not rated higher would be more sufficient because it is smaller than a walkman."
mocha frap replied: "get the sony, its reliable"
Monica replied: "Of course the one with th higher ratings are always the best choice for u, but no one will notice the difference between the price of each so the C.L.Z.S is a good choice 2, just 2 save money, but of course the one with the most stylish pattern ( wich is the most simpler and smallest form) is an awesome way 2 have any1s head turn 2 ur mp3s player directiion!! U will recive many compliments!! And of course find out which mp3 is easier 2 maintain. Some stick-on crystals also attract attention and compliments!"
chrstnwrtr replied: "The Sony Walkman sounds like a better deal. Sometimes you need to throw down a little extra cash to get good quality and it sounds like this might be worth it.
Sansa SanDisks are also good quality MP3 players, too. My dad has one and he's totally satisfied with it. They're much better than Apple iPod shuffles because they come in with a built in FM Tuner.
My recommendation is to either go with Sansa or Creative (a music player company). I have a Creative Zen which holds up to 15,000 songs with an FM tuner, etc. It cost as much as an Apple iPod 30 GB but has the same features with a little more (about $250-$300).
But if you're not willing to plunk down that much, then get the Sony or a Sansa SanDisk."
puggirl93 replied: "ok , well i had a sony and it was crap, it broke and i jsut ended up getting an ipod. Like my sony turned on and off, and had all thsi funky stuff going on, so i say get the other one"
Sara K replied: "I can't speak about the Creative Stone specifically (except to say I think it looks really cool), but I have the Zen V Plus, and I really love it. My last mp3 player was a cheap Creative Labs MuVO v200, but I decided I wanted more memory. I liked my first Creative player enough to buy another, so I'll vouch for the make, if not the specific model. Also, I think you can get more memory for your buck from Creative, and I'd go for 2GB if I were you. Happy shopping!"
I need advice on the PERFECT mp3 player for me. Help me out? My budget it $120-$200
I would like it to be 4GB
I'm not into all the extra things on an mp3 player, for example, (photo-viewing, video-playing) I just want an mp3 players that holds a lot of songs.
I want it to be nice and easy to use. I also want to NOT HAVE TO download any software in order to put song's on it. (my laptop is owned by my school- we're not allowed to install anything.)
I was looking at the Creative Labs Zen V Plus but I've seen the reviews and they're not all that good.
Is there anything you know of that fits my criteria? Thank you very, very, very much.
weeder replied: "If it were me I'd go with the Creative Vision M 30gb. I know you mention 4gb above, but you can get a 30gb for $199 so more is better is right? This does had video, etc but you don't have to use it which means you have more room for tunes.
I have over 5000 songs on mine so I always have something to listen to and this player has a nice big color screen, easy to use scroll bar and you don't have to put software on your computer. It comes with some, but it is not required to put music on your player. Also, because it's a "plays for sure" product it can be used at all the major music stores, whereas the Ipod will only let you use Itunes.
Here is a link with specs and reviews. The product got great reviews.

Jobey James replied: "the creative zen v plus is very good, just ignore the reviews, trust me i had a uk spec one for a few months. the sandisk sansa e series is also very good."
Tino replied: "Seriously. I (to save money) would get a used IPOD. For you probably the mini or nano. They are by far the best mp3 players. Go to craigs list. Its just like a newspaper classified.
go to yahoo search and type in craigs list and [your city]! Then got to electronics and type in IPOD and see what comes up!
Good Luck"
Opinions on this MP3...? I was looking for an MP3 player and found this one. It is the Creative Labs zen MP3 player and I was wondering if it was good or bad. What do you think. There have been more good then bad reviews.
Angela D replied: "Creative have an issue with their players in my opinion.
They have a tendency to freeze up, sometimes you can get them to re-boot by turning them off then on again but sometimes you have to press the re-set button.
It's an issue with the operating system they use, it isn't very stable.
Some time back they did a player called the Zen V, they've discontinued it now for the reason I've given.
They recognized the problem with the player quite openly, the first FAQ on their website about problems with the player addressed the freezing issue.
But it's a bit late after you've bought one.
Many MP3 players have issues with operating system stability, they are complicated devices....I run an Archos at present and it does it now and then as well...fortunately not very often and nowhere near as often as the Creative did.
In the end the Creative I had simply refused to turn back on again and that was the end of that.
I e-mailed them about it and though they conceded there was a problem with the player they weren't particularly helpful in any way.
I also run a Sony now and have found that to be absolutely bullet proof, it uses the same operating system as the PSP and never gives any trouble at all.
Of all the players I have had I would recommend the Sony for that reason alone.
It doesn't matter how good a player is..it's worthless if it breaks down on you."
Sclyny replied: "For creative zen, I like the zen x-fi, it's more amazing than the moric, here is the tutorial about the zen mp3 player, have a look at to get the best mp3 player yourself"
