Why does my belly jewlery leave green residue on my skin? even when I don't wear it in the shower I notice discoloration on my skina nd even in and on the piercing hole. Is there body jewlery thats proven not to have this problem? I've bought jewlery off about 7 websites and all my jewlery does this.. some websites are bodycandyjewlery,piercethis2.com ,funkytownmall.com,freshtrends.com

lisa h replied: "Sometimes silver jewellery can leave a green tinge on skin. It usually wears off. Have you tried jewellery that is made for sensitive skin? They can usually be found in pharmacists."

d. replied: "the oils of the skin are very corrosive causing metals to break and decompose rust, silver tarnish, aluminum to tarnish (and read more). there are many different metals that are used plate: *silver- depending on the compostion of the silver and the ion of silver used there may be a greenish, blued, black or rustic tint to it. some people are sensitive to silver(rare) and have reactions resulting in a pair of pliers cutting the bolt out. *chrome/chromium- although very resillient to tarnishing(this is the one that flakes off old bumpers and likewise piercings) causes high allergic reactions, sometimes resulting in skin splitting. *nickle- same boat as chrome, sometimes goes black *stainless steel- not really stainless, very easy to damage and tarnish! SURGICAL STEEL- best bet, does not tarnish, is not too expensive, doesn't cause reactions, very strong and resilliant prolly the 3/5 rankings gold, platinum, and pure silver are up in the highest- just because it says pure silver does not mean anything... or ionic silver(blue purple tarnish) does not have to be what it is called- you need a legal certification to really know what you are getting."

Where Do I Get My Ear Pierced? Alright, Im Getting My Ear Pierced because i want a Spike Twister earing (http://www.freshtrends.com/mas_assets/thumb/G202A.jpg) And i need to know, where on my ear do i have to get it pierced for 1? Please Help? (I need to know Where On my EAR I need To Get It Pierced)

momoxonnanoko replied: "There are a lot of places to get you ear pierced. The easiest place (it might not be the cheapest) but you should look at the local mall. There is bound to be a place there that will do it. If you can't find someone there, just look for your local jewelers and they should know a place if they don't do it there themselves. The oddest place I have ever found a piercer is China Town. Always keep in mind though, that the people that are piercing use clean tools because having an infection just ruins the whole thing."

Where to get your ear pierced to wear the ear cuffs that you wear with piercings (not the non-piercing type)? I want to get a piercing where I'll be able to wear these types of earrings: Where should I get my ear pierced to wear these? Maybe on the side of my ear in the cartilage?

Teresa replied: "yes your cartridge is the best place to show it off"

So how does a 6mm transfer over to gauge size? I have 1/2" gauged ears and I went to this site to order some new gauges, and i'm not sure exactly how many mm would be the equivalent to my size... Here's the site:http://www.freshtrends.com/cgi-bin/item/OR-023/Organic-Body-Jewelry

Stasha-Pistachio replied: "1/2" is 12.7mm. But it can range between 12 and 13mm. 6mm is 2g"

So when I first have my belly button pierced what type of jewelry can b worn, can i bring my own jewelry for? first piece i wear, and would they accept this as a first piece??, thnxzz :) ..or this..>
Mekka P replied: "I have my belly Button pierced, and this is what the piercer told me/had me do: When you get if first pierced they will use the standard Belly Button ring. (Just a silver one, with a ball on both ends.) The standard is made of stainless steal, and they always use it because it is best to help encourage the healing process. After about 3 weeks you will be able to change the belly ring to whatever other ring you have. I suggest that you wait at least the 3 weeks with the standard in before you change it out to something else. This way, it just guarantees that it heals up nicely, and then you will be able to have fun with it without worrying."

funwithsharpthings replied: "a. the piercer will pierce you with the proper jewelry. hopefully. b. you should not be able to bring your own. it is not sterile and the quality is usually unknown. maybe if they use a statim, or something that sterilizes in a few minutes. c. the gold one is plated, which is a poor choice for an initial piercing d. the steal one isn't the best steal, but could be worse. navel's take up to a year to heal, so you really don't want to change it for many months. get it done right, and let it heal. then you'll have a nice piercing for the rest of your life. go to safepiercing.org for proper aftercare and what to avoid"

HELP MY BIRD JUST ATE A PIECE OF AN EARRING? my cockatiel ate a bead from a body jewellery like this - the bead in the middle. but it was smaller than that. i think it ws the smallest size you can get, and it is metal. will she just poop it out? it is made from stainless steel, and all the jewels fell out anyways so it was kind of hollow.

Phoenix replied: "She'll be fine. SInce it is indigestible material, it will just pass through her intestines and be expelled from her body--just so long as it isn't too big. If it were too big, it could get clogged in her intestinal tract, which will create health problems that could be fatal. But I'm guess that if it was small enough to be swallowed, it's small enough to be 'digested'. Cheers, Phoenix"

chickenfarmer replied: "Birds in the wild routinely get foreign matter in w/their food. No biggie."

eberandrew replied: "lOl LoL hahahhahahahhahahhahah don't get worked up your bird will have a spherical silver baby"

cantopia replied: "just don't do anything. it might poop it out."

=D replied: "Birds eat stuff off the ground, so occasionally eat small rocks or undigestible matter. Do not worry, but if you are concerned she is acting differently, then go to a vet and explain."

CriticalBoe replied: "it'll come out hole number two thats all.... it was'nt sharp was it? like something that could get caught somewhere>?"

Dolphinwebkinzgirl replied: "I'm not sure but i think she will be fine. Call a vet and ask though."

Alex M replied: "not good i would take it to the vet but to the pet store...they might do something and wont charge"

Yogi T replied: "If it was stainless steel and very small and wasn't sharp she should be ok. Be sure to monitor her poop (not fun but necessary) If it doesn't show up in a day or she acts funny call the vet. If it was costume jewelery you might be in trouble as that is often coated base metal. Not a good idea to wear earrings around birds as they can yank them out and hurt you or as you have found out damage themselves. They can also damage valuable jewelry."

serina replied: "Go to a vet ASAP. If you plan on saving a couple of bucks you might end up losing your bird."
